I attended the Chinese New Year Celebration as a student ASL and English interpreter. This was my first time at the Delaware Art Museum, and I have to say, I was blown away. I arrived early, met the friendly and accommodating staff, and was able to tour the museum before it became crowded. It is gorgeous! I especially love the room that is downstairs called the Kids’ Corner. It is so colorful, vibrant, and has tons of interactive aspects for children.
As for the Chinese New Year Celebration, I believe it went off without a hitch. The staff had prepared a number of delightful activities for children and scheduled very impressive and interesting performances. I believe everyone involved had a wonderful time. It warms my heart that the Deaf children were able to take part in all of these activities with full communication accessibility, thanks to the hired interpreters and volunteer interpreters, such as myself. It was a fun and excited day for everyone. Now that I know it is there, I plan to visit the museum again in future.
