This is the second time we have visited this place and it was just as amazing the second time around. You think you are just walking into a souvenir store and they do have a good selection of seashells and other gifts but upstairs is where you find the real reason for coming here. The collection of artifacts is dazzling and beautifully displayed. It’s amazing how much history is packed into such a small space and my kids were awestruck at all the gold and at the idea that an old spoon found in the water could be just as important as a huge block of gold or silver. The gentleman who runs the place was also very gracious to the young ones and pulled out a couple of “pirate coins” and showed them a few magic tricks-they are still practicing by the way 😄. I highly recommend checking this place out and because Assateague has become our favorite destination after this second camping trip, we will definitely be back!
