A great piece of history. The workers are very knowledgeable and can answer any questions you have. It's like going back in time.

Wonderfully preserved! They take very good care of the grounds. The portrayals of life in this time are very authentic.

Great place to spend a few hours and learn some local history. The ferry ride over was very enjoyable too.

What can I say... these folks have done a terrific job providing a great place to step back into history. The place is very well preserved, considering its age and history. It really is cool to see, particularly the officer quarters. They also still light fires there, which is a huge pleasant surprise. Very nice

Pea patch island is an awesome place to take the family or go by yourself. You can catch a ferry over from Fort Mott. Its 12 dollars per adult. Its well worth it. You can stay for 2 hours or more. Time goes by fast. To see everything I'd stay 4. Bring a picnic lunch. Anything you bring onto the island, you must carry off. Having a book bag is a good idea. Everyone there is a volunteer! They are in character and will tell you about the history of living there back then. The prison is slowing making more repairs to open up other areas in the prison. They now have a gift shop. That sells gifts, candy etc. Its great! I'll upload as many pictures as I can. Definitely gotta visit this place!
